Update:
Guys I wouldn't order from the Moparfactorparts web sight. I can't get ahold of them and they haven't replied to me in any way. I called my credit card and they can't do anything until a charge is made against it and that hasn't happened. So, I'm guessing these guys can't locate one at the price they advertise. I've got one coming elsewhere.

As for my jeep. When I was pumping it up the other day and noticed the bubbles coming out of the heater plug, it did pump up tight, so I tried starting it. It cranked for several times then pow! It fired right off. Since Monday I've been driving it around since.
Now. With this type set up and the problem of it leaking I can see the need to improve it with an inline pump. It reminded me of my dodge cummins when the lift pump failed and the new fix was to put an in tank pump but dodge would do a recall on it or pay for the damage to my injector pump which was directly related to a design flaw. My truck had 60+ thousand miles on it when it crapped out. It now has 203+thousand and never a problem since on the fuel side.

I now have to do some research here and find out what type of add on pump works best. I'm open to suggestions too.

These are the numbers I have on file for the Jeep Liberty CRD in-tank fuel pump. I know the Carter number P76148M is good; that is what I installed in my CRD fuel tank back in May and it fit and has functioned perfectly...only required a slight trimming of the index tab and replaced the float/float arm with the original one. It was very easy to change... :)
Adding the additional wiring from under the rear seat to the the top of the tank took more time than changing out the assembly...
Pump maintains about 12-14 psig on outlet side of secondary 2 micron CAT filter at all times.... 8)

See this thread for more information and pictures: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=78950&hilit=lift+pump+install+lift+pump+install

Hope this helps?
Best of luck...

Yes, very accurate, just use the float that came with the Jeep. Very simple to change float arm.....
