OP, whatever became of this? Did you get any results from the shock dyno?

Curious what their findings were and if they recommended anything else or talked about making changes. I'm in the market for new suspension and would rather not spend the exorbitant cost of OME dampers if theirs a decent alternative (been keeping my fingers crossed for Bilstein). May go with them anyway.

Could be wrong, I have some past suspension experience albeit no experience lifting 4x4's, but I would think (especially with a CRD, and being under sprung) that you would have more positive lifespan and damping when coupled with higher rate aftermarket springs. If the vehicle is already failing to support itself under it's own weight I can imagine your dampers would take a beating.

My rig is a 3.7, so it may not apply, but I noticed the same thing with my Bilstein and 926/947 setup. I just swapped to OME struts and 927/948 and kept my Dakota Bilstein's in the rear just to see how they felt, but will be swapping those out soon. I did go up in spring rate, but the OME's are a much better strut than the 4600's.

I can't be the only one whose ever wondered this before, but how can a stock Toyota or fx4 Bilstein last 200k+, but yet you buy the same 4600 anywhere besides the dealership and you're lucky to get 50k from it? That's a comparison I'd like to see

I did OME 790's + 1/4" clevis in the front with OME struts and JBA 2.5" lift springs in the rear with OME shocks. So far the ride is vastly more controlled than my stock suspension ever was. Far less body roll or brake dive. The only negative effect I had was that the bigger 265/70R16 tires wander a little bit more. Its only been about 2000 miles though so I cant comment on how long they last.
