I haven't memorized the specs, but Shell Rotella T6 meets the specs, as does Mobile one TDT. I think if it is Turbo Diesel rated, and 0 or 5 Weight 40, then it is good.
I have long since wondered if a lot of the premature wear on some of these engines could be related to owners, or oil change places putting in the wrong oil. Non TD rated oil will cause premature wear for sure. Go with thicker viscosity and you'll destroy the turbo, and that also means trying to run anything that isn't full synthetic.
The new V6 ecodiesel is the same manufacturer as the 2.8 VM Motori, so I bet the same oil is required, but I'm sure the experts will chime in.

If the ACEA specification on the oil matches they are good to use. Most of these heavy duty diesel oils meet the proper ACEA specification for these engines. It is on the container just like the CH or CI or CJ designations.
