I've done two timing belt jobs and both pumps were timed from the factory, so I put them back in time. I'm in the camp that says it contributes to good power/smoothness, so I time it. It's so easy, why wouldn't you?

I think he's more debating it than opposing it, as a principle. I think a dyno test may be conclusive for lacabrera to change his mind,and since I don't know who would do that, we'll have to live with it the way it is, lol.

I am not against timing the pump, the last belt change on mine I timed it to the FSM. Yes just debating if it is actually necessary. As mentioned earlier many don't actually have a timing mark to be able to set. http://www.trucktrend.com/diesel-trucks ... e-engines/
Bosch cp3 pumps running of serpentine belt, impossible to time?
