Hello,
Thanks a lot for the information, I have used this Jeep for the past year and everything was working well, and was under warranty for up to 6 months ago, the former owner told me that everything was done per manufacturer's recommendation up to 155K miles , anyway you will check for yourself, but what I will like you to prepare for and even get parts (if required) available is to:
1) check/replace the fuel line from the tank to the fuel(water separator) filter.
2) Install an in-tank fuel pump (I saw one on ebay for $75) if you don't have one. The former owner had electrical connections already in-place. You don't have to lift the seats.
3) Boost leak.
Note: Check Engine light is not on.
If you find anything else , that is alright, but prepare for the listed issues that I suspect.
Thanks a lot and Happy New year.

darn Jim, how come you get all the easy ones?

I've got an ARP/Rocker/Lifter/Glow Plug/Injector coming up....

Hexus - I'd happily swap with you, I haven't done an in-tank pump on anybody, so I'm not really crazy about trying it, at least not on a truck I don't own. I won't practice on someone else's vehicle.

Based on the symptoms, I'm happy to look it over for you, but I seriously doubt you have an air-in-fuel issue if you are having smoke during running. That isn't how air-in-fuel manifests.

Give me a email or PM (buttons below) tonight or tomorrow (replacing a transmission at the moment and I need the daylight) and we can go over everything before I leave this week. I'm in South Florida at the moment.

Hello Geordi, I tried to reach you (from area code 202..) by the number you posted earlier, but it appears you were away from your phone or busy. Let me know when you plan to head to NY(Port Washington area).
Thanks again.

I did get a call from a 202 area code, but there must have been a bad connection on my end, the message wasn't intelligible at all. Sorry about that and not calling back, I've gotten a lot of scammer calls like that where they are trying to offer me "free grant money for being a good taxpayer" and it is always a 202 area code. I'll try calling you back today.
