Low pressure isn't the problem to be afraid of though - low FLOW is. The passages where the oil's work is most critical, are very small.

18psi; I could not help but to laugh!!! :lol: A lot of the older GM's were happy with 3-5 psig at idle! :roll:

Lol, was just thinking the same thing. A friend of mine has a 95 sierra with a 305 that is his beater truck. Drove it around for a year with oil pressure ay a max of 15 psi. Checked the oil one day, nothing on the stick. Ended up dumping 5 quarts in before it was full, it only holds 6. Oil pressure back up to mid 40s. Never knocked or anything. Needless to say he decided he should check it more often then right before he changes it.

Made a few more trips in it....so far so good. I think we can label this one problem solved.
