Mine is Canadian. Non EPA .

That may be the reason you did not find one?
All US model Jeep CRD's 05 & 06 came from the factory with a CAT before the OEM muffler just as Flash described above!!!
Not sure about Canadian models, maybe some other north of the border owners can confirm?

The best place for a CAT is in the TRASH!!!! :ROTFL:

Why would Chrysler make a separate exhaust pipe just for Canada?
If that were the case, then there would be a separate part number.
And likely other export CRDs would also not have a cat.

Canadian vehicles tend to follow the same emissions standards as the US.

2005 parts catalog does show two different part numbers, but doesn't specify the difference between them. 2006 parts catalog has a little more info:

52080451AC [NA1] ... sales code [NA1]=Export Emissions
52129140AD [NAA=NAE] ... sales code [NAA]=Federal Emissions, sales code [NAE]=California Emissions

When I look up the two part numbers on wermopar.com, the export one comes up almost $100 cheaper than the US one. I'm guessing the US one may have a more effective catalyst thus the price difference? No idea which one the Canadian KJ CRDs came with.

CARB emissions rules require vehicles used by Cali residents be equipped with special Cat Converters manufactured in California. A 49 state Cat for my Van costs mid 300ish dollars. A CARB specified one costs $1200+. Interesting that the company that manufactures these is owned by a relative of Barbara Boxer.

will post photos of the turbo resonator when I straight pipe the entire exhaust system,feb/march. Already lost the muffler.

Previous owners were a 65 year old lady who putt putt putted aroud town with the CRD. Not likely she gutted it :) 2nd owner was a CDN FORCES Veteran. Only thing he did was add the ARB bumper and shim the EGR. He wanted his daughter to have a vehicle that she could ram her way out of situation if it came to it. He kept meticulous records and there is nothing exhaust related. Just some valve work, cylinder head, and alternator and diff serviece

the resonator looks like this one (identical) (thank you to Liberty EurekaBoy for the photo).Inside the resonator it looks like the old Cherry Bomb mufflers, with perforated plate, hollow chambers and straight thru design.

Here's a large 2.5" muffler for a Ford E350 van with 7.3L diesel. If it is quiet enough for a van and flows enough for a 7.3L diesel, it should work well on a catless CRD. Given it's length, it may not fit with a cat.

Barbra boxer is honest and looking out for your best interest, you are not smart enough to take care of yourself.

She also has one hellofa gun collection. I know this because while the NRA has been trying to convince the American public Obama and Clinton are going to take your guns to help manufacturers to boost sales California is actually starting down that path.

If you want quiet and free flowing look into the flow master 70 serries, I have one on my 6.5 suburban, 3" may be too small for it but it has a nice tone while still being quiet.

Flowmaster 942542 Series 40 Delta Flow, 2.50 Center In / 2.50 Offset Out

Fits perfectly in place of the OEM muffler. Remove the CAT and either gut out internals or even better just replace with a straight piece of 2.5 inch exhaust tubing.
No noise or drone at any speed. Cannot even hear the exhaust unless you have the windows down!
