I would.

I'd also check my air filter, and maybe replace my fuel filter if its been a while.

Poor fuel mileage is usually caused by one of those (notwithstanding tire-pressure, a lead foot, and crappy fuel).

A small boost leak, i.e. hose leak, cracked charge air cooler, etc... can impact fuel milage greatly!
Also sticking variable vanes on the turbo or issues with the variable vane controls can also cause poor fuel milage!

FYI, there no learning process required for a new MAP sensor. The OBC simply takes the output data from the MAP and uses that information to control various engine functions!

what about the first part of my post, the over boost has gone is it due to the long (8 x 220 miles trips) on cruse control could it moved the rubbish from the turbo vain's is this possible? I will soon be making a trip of 600 miles I have dome many times so can compare the mpg indicated and I will report back.
