drove it a bit and thought about trying a tank of bio blend, there is a pump in maplewood that sells B in a few selectable blends and was wondering how many folks have run it, and at what blend. be good to give it a cleaning out.

I have run a few different blends but that first time or 2 have a spare filter on hand. Because believe me you will need it ran my first tank and half way through the tank i had to replace my racor. But it ran great alot quieter on idle and even got a slight bump in fuel mileage. I would suggest looking into which blend is suggested for the temperature range in your area and go with it.

got a smidge more than a quarter tank left and 400 miles since I filled it, a lot of highway 75 mph running, no special treatment so the gde seems to be helping a fair bit!

My passenger window dropped down and wouldn't come back up, so I took it to my local mechanic and he said that he has to replace the motor and the regulator at a cost of about $400. I just bought a Sear's Platinum P-1 battery yesterday and it starts up fast now. Downside is that I'm getting sick of paying to fix this Jeep and I'm about ready to dump it.

Window drop is a KJ problem not a CRD problem and the fix is not a $400 motor and regulator. What breaks is a stupid little plastic part. Go to http://www.steigerperformance.com/dif.cgi?sp13006 for a metal replacement. Cost is ca. $90 and takes about 45 minutes to install.

Note that there are 2 different styles so be sure you know which one you have before ordereing. My 2005 had the ball stud style and the only thing I'd add to the instructions is make sure the retaining clip is fully and evenly engaged behind the ball head before closing things up.

Sounds like the same problem I had with our Dodge Caravan... the little gear-toothed plastic rail that passes through the motor. Real-pain, as they seem to go out in the cold months when the plastic loses it's elasticity.

Some kj's have a recall on this. I got one of mine fixed for free and the rest are covered until 2013. I would call your jeep dealer and check. I posted this issue in the kj section of the forum last summer.

ebbnflow,
Thanks for the heads up on this. I wish I would've seen this earlier, but my mechanic already had it fixed this morning. The bad part is that I don't have a Jeep dealership anywhere near me so I have to rely on my local mechanics instead. That's why I always buy my vehicles out of warranty because it costs too much to drive to get warranty work done.

I took it to the dodge dealer. There is no jeep dealer near me either. Just keep it in mind for the future as all 4 of your windows are prone to this failure.

I fixed my two fronts last year, but when you put them up the glass cocks at an angle and jams half way up. I have to straighten out the glass so it will go the rest of the way up. Did I miss something?

Well yesterday, not today, I had the dealer, BZ Motors in Lewisburg, PA, change the tranny fluid/both filters, front and rear diff. oil, transfer case oil, rotate tires, and replace the rear wiper blade while it was there to keep the wife happy. I bought all of the fluid myseld (ATF+4 from Advance, Mobil 1 75w90 for the front diff. and 75w140 for the rear diff., as well as a Lube Locker rear axle cover gasket). They installed my fluid/parts without any trouble, and did a great job. I would have done this myself, but thanks to the cold and to snow on the ground, I just could not get it done in the time I wanted to... so I let them do it. I asked our local dealer, K&L in Renovo, PA, several times... both called and stopped by in person, for an idea on price and how long it would take... and they never called me back. There have been several times they have done this, not just with this car. Typical for my area, nobody wants to work up here... even easy jobs!

Straight piped the exhaust today. Got rid of the glass pack as well as the flange just after the converter. I've caught that on rocks before, Its always been a concern that I might damage the turbo if that flange caught a rock going any speed more than a crawl, so I eliminated it. Also eliminates a restriction as the pipe was necked down at the flange.
