Got my 05 CRD back from the dealer tonight. They did the F37 recall, no pump for me. I even asked. I did get new TCM. Yippee
Here's what I noticed afterwards. Appears the shift points have chained in the lower gears. Seems to shift at a bit higher RPM. After #4 I dont notice anything different. Lock up at 50mph and again 60mph.
The first thing I noticed is it feels doggy in the lower gears. Before when I hit the gas my CRD "lunged" forward with gusto. Now I dont feel that lunge. It goes but feels doggy. At least my seat of pants dyno tells me as much. Once up to 60+ it feels the same as before...

Picked my Jeep up from the dealership post-F37 a few nights ago. The replaced my torque converter-but not any of the other stuff.
The Jeep is definitely slower to start out with. You get a more gradual application of torque at the lower rpms. Shifts are quicker, but they are smoother....
Sounds like they're replacing the diesel torque curve for something more akin to a gasser. No surprise if the torque converters (both original and replacement) were actually designed for a gas engine - which wouldn't surprise me. The "being cheap" approach would be to try to use parts you already have on the shelve. Sounds like they're gutting the torque where you need it the most. It kind of defeats the purpose (at least one) of having a diesel if this is indeed the case.
I've been hoping that somebody will do before and after dyno runs so we can see what is really going on. Seat of the pants dyno results offered by folks here are interesting and all, but they are too subjective to be of much use.
I got the notice in the mail today. I don't thing I'll be racing down to the dealer to have this done.
This is the first DCX vehicle I've ever bought. I never been a big fan of DCX and for the most part have tried to avoid them. I've just seen too many problems with their stuff. However, I've always had an interest in Jeeps, and this little diesel was enough to push me over the edge and give DCX a try. I got to say I'm a bit disappointed. I don't know for sure - but my gut feeling at the moment suggest that this may be the first and last DCX product I every buy.
