What is the error code? Did you plug in your MAF?

Perhaps your box is not getting power. Did you leave out a fuse? Double check your harness splicing to the right box pins?

i put the fuse in so i can change it while the box is sealed... i pulled it out while the Truck was running and i could feel the electrical connection and hear the clicks.

Most likely you are not getting the right MAF signal through the box to the ECM, but without actually measuring it, it's very hard to say. If you cannot discover a wiring error or a component installed improperly, feel free to bring it over (I'm in Denver too) and I will test and troubleshoot it.

i just thought of this... the power wire i tied into was bigger than the ground wire i could find.. could that be the problem? the ground is too small?

No way. It's a wiring error or a mis-installed or defective component. Did you install your diodes and ICs the right direction on the PCB?

long pole through the square on the diodes... the small ones i put the stripe towards the stripe on the PCB, and the IC's i put the "U" shape towards the "U" shape on the PCB.
I saw no blue smoke when installing the resistors or any of the components. i was quick and checked all my solders under a magnifying glass. here are some pics of the bare board. sorry if they are huge first time posting images this way

ok i decided to do this tonight... cut, cut, snip, snip, strip, heat shrink, 2 hours later... test drove it no CEL... started the second time...CEL..

i am a bit lost, all my connections seemed good. i put a pin in the main harness, then in the wire i was going to tie into to check for resistance... all checked out good.
when i pull the fuse to the SEGR box, i can hear clicking.

this is one thing i assumed... all the wires coming from the drivers side was coming from the ECU, the others to the components.

Any suggestions on where to start? i have no way of bench testing.

Thanks in Advance

After soldering did you run from that point to the matching point on the segr box
to check for continuity? Ex. wire 4 to segr 4. power to segr power. If
all those check good, might have gotten a wrong wire. The colors on the wires
are a bear to see, especially with a flashlight that seems to change the colors.
Dismantle the cover on C1, find the wire, count over to that spot. on the back
side look at that color wire, trace it to where you cut and make sure it is the right wire.
Steve

Cut the DkBlu\Grn MAF wire in two
1=Wh wire to Maf DkBlu\Grn
2=Wh\Red stripe to ECM MAF DkBlu\Grn

3=Red to C2-1 DkBrn\Vio +12v

Cut the DkBlu\Vio EGR wire in two
4=Blue to C1-90 ECM EGR DkBlu\Vio
5=Blu\Blk str to EGR solenoid DkBlu\Vio - used only with optional test jumper plug

6=Black to C2-2 Grnd Blk\DkGrn

Cut the Brn\Gry AFC wire in two
7=Yellow to ECM AFC Brn\Gry
8=Yel\Blk str to AFC valve Brn\Gry

9=Violet to C2-17 T41 Yel\DkBlu

Use the numbers on the left and the color wires on the right.
The other colors here in the middle you have to substitute
the color of wires you bought.
Good luck
Steve
PS: Did you build a jumper plug?

Steve,

Today i am going to check that i got the wires correctly lined up between he SEGR and the SEGR harness. i am 99% sure i got the correct wires inside the CRD wiring harness. I put a pin in the main connection at the connection number i wanted (eg C2-17) then counded twice to make sure i was in the one i wanted. then i put a pin in the wire i wanted to splice into and checked for continuity. i had the ones i wanted, i confirmed this on the DrkBlu/Grn wire ( i missed twice 8)

the only thing i can think of is that i messed a wire up somewhere in the SEGRbox/harness.

I will report back. thanks for all the help

Trevor.
Tell me what you want to test and I can test mine same as yours.
I am not really good on this type of things but I know my segr
works and can try to help unless someone with more expertise shows
up here soon.
I wish we knew the codes thrown but as you said, no reader.
You very sure that the female coupler is hooked up right?
You know it is a reverse image of the male on the segr box.
Only reason I say this is years ago I had a tech in my place working
on a computerized saw and he hooked the female up wrong. Took me and the specs on the machine
a week to figure out what he had done. Nope, I didn't pay him as he over-ran
all the stops and burnt the motor out as well.

steve,

I was asking about the sesting because i saw on turbo tim's site that there were voltage readings
at points that you could test... but his was written up for a test bench.

I checked and rechecked the plugs (male and female) and the one is the opposite of the other.

I almost want to say i might have missed the ground. my wires are 16 awg in my SEGR harness.
the power wire i tied into looked to be the smae size or slightly bigger . The gound (which i thought
was the same size at the ECU harness) was smaller... so maybe i did not get a ground and got
something else.

i am going to go check this i'll be back in a few.

If I remember right the ground went over top of the wire chase.
You had to remove it to get the front of the chase off. Maybe
forgot to screw it back to the firewall?
