One of the most useful MODs yet.

Just ordered the kit, bought a factory replacement filter just a month ago, but haven't gotten around to replacing it. I'll see if the dealer will take it back or I'll put it up on ebay. I'm still running the original filter, 31000 miles, never a water light, never had air in the line, and never had to reprime. Guess I got lucky.

I think I'll remove it from the KJ to mod it as suggested by Eurekaboy. I know my patience level and working with it off the firewall will probably save me some busted knuckles and the cost of a replacement head.

My experience is the same as Old Navy's 250,000 miles and not enough water to ever see it in the VW.
And there was nothing to light up if there was water. A non issue for me, I run additive and watch my
fuel. So mine will hang there for the rest of its life.

I ordered the fuel filter adapter, the Fumoto adapter, and Fumoto valve. Excellent customer service. I was kept informed by email about the status of my order, and a tracking link was provided when it shipped. The machined parts are very nicely done. The Fumoto will probably go on this weekend. The fuel filter will be later.

For those on the left coast it has to be sent through Canada via New York.

I ordered mine online. If you go that route, make sure you are using Windows. If you don't use something that supports ActiveX, the shipping feature will not work. I just kept getting "Shipping value cannot be 0". After booting up VM ware and starting a windows instance and using IE, I got an active-X prompt and when I agreed to it, I was able to select a shipping method-- no dice otherwise. Just an FYI.

It would not let me do that with Firefox on Linux... it gave me cannot be 0 regardless of shipping option. Windows with IE worked, however-- it prompted me to run an ActiveX script that then brought up all of the UPS shipping options and charges. You may not see the prompt-- unless you have your security settings cranked. I have my security settings on Windoze as tight as possible. It is a good idea to have Windoze prompt you before it runs an ActiveX script in general as ActiveX has a very very poor security history and was for many years a virus writers best friend. ActiveX should NEVER be used for web development on the client side anyway.

Well I have all those things loaded and I don't recall getting any questions on how to ship, just a note to tell me that my account would be confirmed to my email address which it was. I have received no response to my email inquiry about whether my order was received and that was sent on Monday. I ordered on the 28th.

I just replaced my filter with the Cat filter. Maybe it's just me but if I could do it again I wouldn't. I'm sure it's a far superior filter but I'm having a heck of a time with the job. The treads where the adapter screws in were jammed with loctite which took quite a few tried to get completely out. I washed and used the airgun and washed again but can't help think I left some small particles in there to do harm later on. I have put it together and back apart three times and it still leaks. It's together again now as tight and clean as I could get it and I'm scared to start it up. If it leaks again I'm out of ideas.

ps. Looks like 4th time was the charm. No leaks. Fingers crossed.

After I installed Cat and adaptor, I had Jeep go into limp mode. Limped to dealer, Mech was ok w/ Cat, said codes showing large fuel leak. He replaced filter assbly. and set up Cat filter. Next day back to P0093 code and limp mode. Having to purge system every morning before going on road. Picked up new Cat 1R 0750, will install later tonight or next night. Had no problem with fuel system till change out.

Just pumped the third tank of fuel today with the Cat filter and no problems. All it took was careful cleaning and removal of the OEM thread locker, which took most of the time for the job. Reassembled w/o problem and just snugged every thing, not ape torqued. Nothing leaked and CRD started first try.

Drove it today on a 110 mile round trip with a friend who is a big guy like me and he has the same dislike of the Jeep as I do, not enough floor space for our big legs and feet. He does like the power & economy however, blows his mind that I can get better MPG's then his Toyota Matrix on the highway.

On a side note 47 Cetane Amoco ULSD was only $2.679 when I filled up. :D

It is a bugger to clean the threads where the old adapter was and I was lucky I guess, however I was not sure till I wiped it and
then after several days saw no further leaks or wetness. Just drove from Michigan to Missouri and ran like a top, no leaks, so
once you have it, you should be good. Its that bloody two piece of crap that you have to get just right --I don't know why I just
did not seal it up with something before I put it together.

I'm going to have to take mine apart again and seal it with something. Every couple days it'll accumulate enough air to stall it when I first put it in gear. Bleed it out and it's fine.

Do we have any quick disconnect fittings in the fuel line that may be allowing air to be sucked in? This was a problem with 1999-2003 Ford Powerstrokes.

Back at the tank there is a connection of some sort. I think it is one of the newer type that requires a special tool to release it. Probably like what Ford had trouble with. I need to check mine out because I have an ongoing situation with air in the filter head on my Jeep.
