The wife is in love w/ her CRD. She likes being able to out-drag nearly anyone off the line w/ her "soccer-mom mobile".

I use the CRD to tow my motorcycle trailer and I'm jonesing for a Grand Cherokee w/ a Mercedes 3.0L V6 diesel (and hopefully an MB tranny). The wife thinks it'll be too big for her to drive but I would love the longer wheelbase and more interior room.

So the CRD is here for to stay unless the diesel Grand Cherokee becomes a reality. We're at 32K miles and so far have had no problems other than the various recalls. But this tranny still makes me nervous. I'd like a purpose-built tranny and I think the above MB combo will have had all the kinks worked out.

Honestly I don't know why anyone would pay a base price of $42,000 when you can get the MB ML series with the same motor (and has to be an all around better truck) for a base of $45,000, but thats JMO

If I was in the market for something that went in that price range and after the way we CRDs owners have been treated by Jeep and their parent corp , it would be a no brainer which one I'd pick.
