Mr Road Kill, do you have any other way of confirming this for us? It would be nice to have something a little more tangible to pass along to the samco guys other than "hearsay." (not that I doubt you, but I would like something else to pass along besides a "someone said so")

Samco says used hoses are just fine, to recap who has what used hoses sitting around? Burst is fine but not cut hoses like mine.

I have a slightly used (and very oily) inlet hose with just a barely noticable  split down one side that I just replaced an hour ago.

Just to be clear I'm using the terminology in the factory service manual: inlet hose is from turbo to CAC and outlet hose is from CAC to intake.

Sir Sam I've been waiting to see if we have any traction and I haven't rewritten Samco due to confusion of solicitation from multiple parties (from the same entity:this board). Do they have the part numbers so they can order a new set? I would rather they do this instead of a copying a used set. I would be :x if I bought something new, and they came warped, right out of the box.

The old outlet hose I will be sending to SirSam has the same shape as the new one, but has a slightly expanded diameter (due to pressure, I presume).

I believe it would be a sufficent model to build from. It is odd, however, that they dont just buy their own, new. Perhaps they just want confirmation that the new ones and the old are similar.... who knows.

Dont worry we are good, my last email with Paul was just before he left for the weekend. They have the part numbers and claim to not be able to get the hoses. I told them my concerns and they dont think its an issue to use the used hoses. I also told him that we would want to test the fitment first.

I guess if the fitment isnt good enough then we will take it from there.

I was pretty clear to samco that I thought new hoses should be used, they said to me a couple of times that used were fine.

A few excerps:
Quote:
Either way we will
need the hoses as don't seem to be able to get them in the UK.

Quote:
I don't think the used hoses will be a problem. Silicone is
very flexible and we don't usually have a problem with using old hoses as
patterns.

They seem confident enough, and I suppose they know what they are talking about.

Sam: The CAC inlet hose is on it's way. Should be there in 2-3 days like the Priority Mail add says...

Hopefully I've successfully convinced you that the part info I gave is correct if they can't find more on their side of the pond. There's no way they can't get the hoses over there. There are far more CRDs in Europe than there have ever been in the US! They just don't want to cough up to pay for them - I can't blame them if they think they can get what they need from some used hoses however.

Jason

Excellent, I hope the other soon finds its way to me.

I think it is just like you said, they are tip-toeing around the issue of being able to purchase them, they think a used hose will work so they see it as a chance to save $ by getting our used junk.

Ill let you know when I get the hose.

Sent a message and will purchase them if they make them. I have 31,000 mi on mine and not had a problem but it sounds like I could be on borrowed time. Anyway, it sounds like a good item to have under the seat since, when the hose blows, you are stuck until the replacement arrives from a parts depot from who knows where. Thanks Sam

Ditto. If they make these hoses and they are priced well.. I'll upgrade. My stock hoses are so thin and weak. I think I am starting to hear a slight whistle sound. I need to do a pressure check.

If you didn't get the passenger side I have a Friday PM warranty replacment date. I think they will want to keep it but if you need it will try to get it.
