Uh? Wow, this got a little off topic. But, yeah the 2.8 VM is more of a truck motor.

Back to business. The guys over at http://www.snipertuningforums.com/ are hacking into just about everything. If you happen to live near by Sanford, FL and want to loan your CRD for some custom tuning they might bring a product to market. The tuners they sell reflash ECU's. They map the binary and create templates to use in their software. The software runs on your PC so YOU can write YOUR own custom tunes.

Perhaps if a few more here go over there to put in requests we all can have a handheld user programmable ECU flasher for our CRD. What's really cool is that you can share tunes by simply emailing a file.[/url]

Maxx,

Checked the site out, no Chrysler, No Cummins.
While they may come on strong, there are guys working on it here.
My view is to support the people here, especially folks that have been helping out on this site already.
At this point I am all talk because while I have the new TC and kit there are no pennies yet for a new pump and the install.
Only after the Tranny is fixed can I start on a ECU tune.

I know what you mean by lack of pennies. Most of our pennies are going into the tank. At this point we are considering selling the CRD due to high fuel costs. If it got 30mpg consistantly, we might be able to keep it. Without a good ECU tune that's not going to happen.

There are some other ways. I could sell my truck and camper to buy the wife a TDI or Prius and keep the CRD for my DD. However, it really doesn't work well for me since the cargo area is so small. I need a truck or a wagon.

I guess we will just sell everything and get some horses. We have some high school students that are riding horses to school around here.

The galletto 12.50 flashtool is the new kwp2000. With this i mean that it is taking the place of the slightly outdated kwp2000 tool in the cloned tools market. The tool was originaly designed by the galletto company, also located in italy.

The main benefit of this tool is that it does the EDC16 ecu models , where the kwp2000 only covers edc15.

Ok, so now anyone can read and write the ECU of a EDC16. What about mapping software?

Not even similar - gasser (you know!) is similar to the 318 and the Hemi and the early 5.9 Cummins

Unless you have a relative in the parts department, why would you pay those kind of prices?
The part number should be on your ECU or on Sir Sam's magic spot of numbers.
Remember, discretion is the better part of valor.
