Got me, 95% probability thats the problem, but he still hasn't answered.

Probably doesn't want to believe its a simple maintence problem that was his responsibility.

Kinda like not changing your oil for 100k miles and then wondering what went wrong when your engine seizes.

interesting..
the symptoms are similar to what happened to my wife's jeep.

yes I tried fuel filter and a lift pump. it had the lift pump to start with

the big PIA was the P0093 code...
I tried and tried to get it working..nothing helped..

it was down to injectors, fuel rail or CP3..we all now the CP3 doesn't fail..don't believe it..they do..
I changed the CP3 and all is fine..

have the dealer monitor the rail pressure at idle and while driving.

Can he monitor the rail pressure through the obd connector or do you have to hook as gauge up some were?

And I'm waiting for the new filter and filter head to come in.

I tried to find some number in the FSM..no luck
hopefully the dealer will know the proper values.

I could read my wifes but I'm not sure if the numbers are accurate.
let me know you would like me to check these anyway

Ye please check your rail pressure and let me know, I have no faith in dealership for info on this number, I told him the simple things that could need replacing and he bought me a fuel filter head, filter, and new fuel pump, if problem persist then I guess dealer will be replacing fuel lines, rail, injectors or cp3 which is the injection pump?

What fuel pump are we talking about here :?: Are you saying he put on a lift pump that was non stock  The reason I ask is the 05 and 06 came with only one fuel pump, the high pressure CP3

he bought me the factory in-tank fuel pump, is that what everyone is referring to as the CP3? and he also bought a fuel filter head and new fuel filter.

The CRD did not ship with an in-tank fuel pump... Not sure what your dealer is doing.

Hrm... Well, the original CRD did not come with #3, in-tank - though the gasser KJs did, which may be what your dealer is thinking about. Some folks have since added a fuel pump to their CRDs (the wiring harness is there, regardless of engine), but it is by no means an absolutely necessary modification, in my opinion. If the dealer wants to put one in, for little or no charge, it won't hurt.

I might do what Sir Sam and some others have recommended... most of the time these sorts of issues are either a bad filter or a bad filter head. Replace the filter ($30, and easy to do yourself) and see if that fixes it. If not, replace the filter head - also easy to do yourself. If that doesn't resolve the issue, then I'd recommend checking the fuel lines for leaks and fixing them, or considering a fuel pump.

An easy way to check if your fuel head is the issue - is the fuel heater plug burned in any way? This is the plug on the right hand side, as you stand facing the engine from the front. If there is any browning of the yellow plug, then you have a leak in your fuel filter head. My father's CRD had this issue and it has sense been resolved by replacing the filter head with the newer model.

The stock fuel pump - the CP3 is attach to the injector pump at the front of the engine - the entire fuel system is under vacuum.

The in tank pump - is a gmctd LOST thing.....
(before gmctd there were inline lift pumps - and they work pretty well too - they just don't look factory.)

Since you are waiting for the parts to arrive at your dealer, there is still time to possibly sort this out and NOT bork your CRD any worse than it already is.

As others have said, there is NO in-tank "pump" on the CRD. I find it HIGHLY suspect that any TRUE dealer service department will be willing to install a part that did not originally come with the vehicle. If the service guys there believe that your CRD has a "bad in-tank pump" or something similar because they haven't been able to measure any fuel pressure from it.... GET YOUR TRUCK AWAY FROM THEM NOW.

IF however (and this is a BIG if) they have actually ordered the REAL fuel pump (The high pressure CP3 that mounts on your engine... I would be very surprised if that was something they would be capable of installing, based on your descriptions of their diagnostics so far.

Seriously now - Change the filter first. I've had VERY similar experiences with my CRD as well, and it was nothing more than a plugged filter. I now have an external low-pressure fuel pump that is working perfectly to supply the filter, so that problem and any air-in-fuel problems are GONE. But that is an "unapproved" modification that did NOT come from the factory. A dealer service department will be VERY unlikely to want to do something similar... Because they are risking their entire franchise to being labeled as "cowboys" by the manufacturer.

How would you like it as a business owner if all your warranty claims were denied by the manufacturer?

are you still getting the p0093 code?
I still think the problem is the CP3.

I'm still working on getting some pressure numbers. the dealer should be able to check these. that is it you trust the dealer to know what their looking at.

Ill have to check the codes tomorrow, code reader is in work truck, does anyone have a part number for the cp3? And also my jeep is shaking after I press the brakes and start to go again, could that be the torque converter? I'm really upset about not being able to drive the jeep, idc how much money it costs the dealership to make it 100 percent right,

FYI -52129053AC does not show on my parts manual or Mopar Part America web.

gasser intank pump should be 05140829AB

Diesel injector pump/CP3 should be 05166083AA (list $2,445.00 discount $1,699.40)

Awesome, and the CP3 is the only part left to replace? glad this all happened now so I didn't have to shell out the 1,700 for the CP3 myself :D

Def. Will never take my jeep to them if they can't even order the right fuel pump for it.
