4 hours?

Either you are really fast, or you have a complete shop with every thing you need? I did mine on ramps, and jack stands with a regular floor jack, and it took alot longer then that.

You have my utmost respect for doing it the hard way!! I probably would have paid someone!!

I had a lift with two rolling trans jacks and a full snap-on box at my disposal. I never did get the fan off- I broke the holding tool and decided it wasn't necessary- we turned the motor with a crescent wrench on the fan nut. It worked out.

That dipstick is one accursed piece. I'm still not sure how they ever installed that at the factory!!

Just got back from a 3 day trip pulling a 21' 2 ton RV ( 150 miles each way )

God I love the GDE Turbo tune , it took the Hill county in Texas with no problems and the Trans tune handled it good also

this was our first run with that setup pulling our trailer

Does flipping the spare tire carrier just raise the height? So people crash into your hitch instead?

I watched my odo roll 77,777 mi. 1/4 the way to my goal of 300k, still got some shimmy shake

Sounds okay, but I think a glasspack might help smooth out the "farting" Not too loud by any means, just dorky

got the beast, plated and emissions good. Now to get the front aligned, adjust the coil overs, and fix the t-case linkage, and add in the new speedo cali box, and she is ready to roll.

It was a big Jeep day for me. I changed front and rear differential oil, new battery, thermostat, and both motor mounts. Turns out both of mine had failed (both rattle when I shake them) but what was unique about this was in the past week I started hearing a crunch when I hit certain bumps. That crunch was my oil pan hitting the cross member. The new mounts hold the engine almost 2 inches higher than the failed ones.

Between the loss of the rattling, renewed power running at temperature, and the quick start-ups it's like a new vehicle. Time for for beer and football....and maybe some Aleve.

Cleaned the MAP sensor. 1st time ever cleaned at 78k miles and it looked pretty much the same as Roostre's. Thanks for the noob thread to let me know about this and it wasn't so bad that it doesn't scare me to keep checking and cleaning it regularly now.

My and my girl did a garage SFA to are 06 CRD libby. We used a TJ D44 and np231, so we had to do the speedo correction to are libby just like TJKJ. It takes the signal from the hallafax speedo and turns it into a AC pulse that the dakota digital box then can send to the jeeps computer to read speed. There is a lot of adjustment though so we can dial it in pretty dang close to stock.

Cleaned MAP sensor. Easier than I thought with the good information from you people on this site. Sensor was dry and sooty. Have 63k on the 06 crd and don't think it's ever been done. Used can of Gumout carb spray and worked real well. Blow dried with light air compressor before re-install. Disconnected batt. before I did it and took for a test drive when done, seems to have a little more pep than before. Love my CRD, been a real great little all around vehicle.

Flipping the mount over besides raising the spare it tilts the bottom inward. It's enough for me to comfortably couple our 17' Casita trialer with a Draw-Tite single bar WDH :JEEPIN:

Yesterday I bypass the OEM transmission cooler and use only the auxilairy cooler I install last summer, I paid a transmission shop last summer to install my torque converter and change my transmission oil line. They didn't not install the white plastic ring , just the small metal clip. The result was uggly...On the 25 December one line disconected from the radiator, looking at the mest I estimate my tranny lost 6 liters of oil! Plug the line back in the quick connect housing and manage to get home ....A 60 miles ride but made the last 10 miles on secondairy road because a CEL show up and my tranny get in safe mode (1-2-3 gear only)

I'm lucky my transmission didn't overheat...just keep the RPM to 2100 max...Temp was -12C outside that day, I expect the worse but since I take great care and the weather was on my side I manage to get home add 3 liters ATF+4 in the tranny before I shot down the engine, I let the truck sit there and just bought 8 liters from my autoparts store. Next day I refill and test road adjusting my level maybe 10 times! Everything look find , no slip gear, no hard shift, no hesitation to get in gear...I Keep a eye on my level, color and smell of my tranny oil and maybe plug back my OEM transcooler next spring only if need....

I replaced the failed thermostat on my wife's CRD with a new OEM unit and sent the core off to kap to be machined.

The old one was not closing all the way. I could pour cold water into the outlet and it would just run through it. It's supposed to be sealed when cold. After chiseling the fossilized gasket off the cylinder head and reassembling, the gauge now runs half a tick left of center. It used to run one tick above 1/4.
