Ok, I picked up a rebuildable core transmission earlier this year, and the plan is to rebuild it and swap it with CRD #1. The removed transmission will be also rebuilt and swapped into CRD #2.

I have a new TC and new pump for the first rebuild but there are so many options out there for parts that I do not know what sort of rebuild kit to get.

My intention is to get this transmission as close to factory new as I can plus things like the Euro TC and Transgo shift kit, with the expectation that I will get 250,000 miles out of it.

Does anyone have recommendations for a good supplier of quality parts that will meet requirements? Price is a consideration but quality is more important.

Check out http://www.transtar1.com/ for your local or regional dealer contact information.

Their Master Kits use Borg-Warner clutches, which should be the same as what is in a factory 545RFE. You can source just about ANY transmission part you can dream of through these guys. They should be able to set you up with a cash account of sorts. Otherwise if they won't, let me know as I can certainly source parts for you at decent prices.

Thanks, Stan, we'll see what comes out of this.
