How far do the fins stick out? Looks like a good 1/2" to me. A milling machine would fix that.

Yes they do stick out, PML is watching this thread, maybe they will adjust the cover.

If someone will measure from the mounting surface of the rear differential to your
fuel shield I will forward the measurements to PML, they requested the measurements.
thanks

Just be glad there is not some of that gear lube running down your arm, takes days for that to clear.

There is 2" between the OEM cover and Skid plate, and you had about an inch left over which leaves me with half inch. I will call the guy tomorrow and ask if they can mill the fins off for us or not cut ther stock as thick so as not to have to mill off fins.

He wanted the distance from the mounting surface of the differential to the gas tank
protector, I would imagine he would design the cover to use that distance.

I'll see if I can get it on mine in the morning, have the fuel tank skid plate installed.

Funny, I measured mine a while back, with just this in mind, and it seemed like there would still be at least an inch of clearance with the PML cover as is.

OK, you guys owe me one. 12:30 at night, hour after I got home from work, and I went outside with a flashlight and tape measure and crawled underneath the Jeep to take the measurement.

Top lip of the skidplate comes about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way up compared to the diff cover.

Passenger side - 4 1/2" from gasket surface to skidplate. Driver side - 4 3/8" from gasket surface to skidplate. This was measured on each side, hooking the tape measure under the outer edge of the diff cover. The skidplate actually curves in slightly toward the fuel tank directly behind the diff, might gain anywhere from 1/8 to 1/4" more clearance.

On mine at least, the skidplate is actually a pretty tight fit against the fuel tank behind the diff. But then, mine has been removed and the tank dropped and reinstalled, due to contaminated fuel.

It'd be a good idea for someone who hasn't had theirs monkeyed with to verify the measurements.

Have sent those measurements to Brent Lottman at PML, if anyone has not moved the
skid plate from factory, please confirm the measurements if you have a chance to see
if there is any difference. Thanks.

Tranny pan will be the next item in a couple of months or sooner.

http://www.yourcovers.com/tp_10304.shtml

There is also a link for the measurements of the pan if you have
shields in place. This may have been posted all ready not sure.

Do you have factory skid plate for fuel tank?

PML will mill the fins off of the current cover for $40 if someone is interested in a group of 10, they will reduce the
milling to $20, however I am just passing on the information, don't really want to organize the group of 10.
This is for the folks with the shields in place all ready.

The price for 10 is a good price and the machine work for $20 a cover is great. I would offer but with postage to and from me, I couldn't do it for less than $20.00 either. So put me on the list for one with them doing the milling if we get 10 folks.

Someone has to organize the list, as of this moment a list does not exist. Lists are fun, esp
when people back out, don't pay, etc. So are you volunteering?? 8)

Sure, I will do it but, only to get the list together. :) Who is going to be the person that deals with PML? :?

Anyone who is seriously interested in getting the PML Differential cover for their 8.25 Chrysler Diff. that is in their CRD PM or email me your intent. We need 10 orders to get the good deal.
