waiting to see if it works, I use a trick when I go down hill , block second gear, and before putting in Drive I increase the speed to 28-31 mph, pull up the foot off the gas and i put D when the revs drop to a minimum, so it does not shift rough

Guys, the dealer had my tranny apart last summer and they worked on it for 8 weeks to replace the TC.

When I finally got it back, I had a second F37 sticker under the hood with a new revision number, side by side to the old F37 Sticker.

They updated the ECU and TCM.

Now, I don't want to jinx myself but the hard 2 to 3 shift I felt is gone.

My only problem is that the new TC is a bit weak for the Hot Tune, but the shifting is flawless.

Within those 8 weeks they replaced 2 TC and finally replaced the whole tranny with a remanufactured one.

Was the rough shifting gone in the interim period between the initial work (which it appears they updated the TCM and ECU programming) and the installation of the reman tranny?

test started, I reprogrammed the ECU and did a first round and a cold engine gave no problems, but I have to wait a few km and run tests to verify

Yeti.

I would send you the Original ECM that the dealer reprogrammed, since I have a separate Hot Tuned unit in the CRD now that came out of my previously totaled CRD before it went to the scrap yard.

But since it is still shifting flawlessly even with the Hot Tune ECM in it, I would think that it is not due to the ECM reprogramming but to what ever was done to the tranny and TCM.

I need The TCM though, I can't send that, I need the vehicle.

"Hi guys , I have the same problem , but i think I have found the problem ........or best ......the solution , In a engine ECU there are a map that determine the torque in a low and high load on the gear , in the next few day I'll try to tune the map lowering the torque on low load at low rpm , and I let you know if this work"

Yeti, that is just oustanding as it gets
The happy banana dance is as corny as it gets for an old man, but I'm doing right now.

Second cold start, there is still a little bit, but it's much better, I tried to recreate the condition that leads to a rough shift , turning off the OD, and the engagement is barely noticeable in 3rd, I need to know exactly what rpm puts the 3rd in your, in my is at 1600 rpm in order to concentrate on those rpm , sometimes puts his 3rd in 1200-1400 rpm , but will not be rushing shots, tell me yours, before singing victory I want to be sure

now i have lowered the torque a little bit at low load from 800 rpm to 1600 rpm , but I think is possible to do the same thing , working on the gas pedal map , lowering the torque requested at low load ..........if I can , I'll try the two different tune for see what is best

Drove the Pricess's Jeep yesterday. 1600 rpm, 2nd to 3rd shift at light throttle, hard every time. Firm to heavy throttle 2200+rpm higher on the shift, smooth every time. There is no hard downshift at all. Same if overdrive is locked out or not.
