I think I changed my mind and may jump on this next round(3). I need a new battery and my fuse box tabs broke in a deer strike so this is the time to do it

The estimate hasn't really changed, back on Tues Nov 22 I gave an estimate of the first week in December:

Is there much need for this group 65 batteries in milder climate of west coast?

Sure, it's great if you are running extra accessories such as a winch, or high-end car audio. Or if you need to draw power when the engine is shut off (such as when camping or overlanding) and you need extra reserve capacity. Personally I think the group 65 should have been standard from the factory on the CRD.

FYI - batch 3 will be the last to get special pricing. Only 2 more left in the final batch.

Received my battery tray today,a day early I might add.

1st impression is it's very well built, very solid, and has some weight to it.Thank god I'm not concerned about adding more weight as my KJ is already over 6300lbs so what's a few more lbs?

Hopefully I can get it installed tomorrow if the weather holds out.

Got mine Monday; got it installed this afternoon, only took about 15 minutes. Fit perfectly and very impressive, well designed and well built. Great job Seth!!!
Now to get a new group 65 AGM battery!!!

Also cleaned and re-grounded the possible problematic ground wires identified by Geordi that are bolted to the body fender right behind the left headlight assembly while I had the OEM battery tray out before installing the new Sasquatch tray...

With everyone saying how nice it is, I just had to unbox mine. All I gotta say is that it definitely looks like it's NOT made in China! Very nice man

One question, will it fit my stock battery with a little foam spacing or similar until I buy a new one?

I put my group 34 back in place till I can get a group 65. It looks like it sets a little higher in the new tray (the gp 34) due to it being about an inch taller than a gp 65 so I could not install the top *holddown plate that came with the Sasquatch tray (*to close to + battery terminal for comfort). So I simply used a short rubber bungee cord to hold it down temporary till I get a gp 65 battery.
I also put a thick piece of rubber padding on top of the (+) positive battery post to make sure it does not contact the hood since it sets a littler higher in the new tray...

Don’t forget to check that ground bolt on the fender while you got it apart!!! I believe it is a ground for the gateway module and the EMIC among other things?
Looks like it is a very important ground point for several items...

This is the only reference I could find to this ground in the FSM!
Quote:
The switch receives a path to ground at all times through another take out of the headlamp and dash wire harness with a single eyelet terminal connector that is secured under a ground screw near the front of the left front fender inner shield in the engine compartment.

Many thanks WW! Geordi's ground nightmare reminded me of when I rebuilt a 22re and put the engine ground on the wrong side of the motor mount. The starter would barely turn it over, and I thought I botched a spendy high performance build  luckily I was an electronics tech and I finally noticed that the engine was isolated from ground with my meter :5SHOTS:
