Ok, so right now sports make up 65% of 2005 production, and 27% of 2006 production.

43 vehicles counted(17-2005 26-2006), earliest production is Jan of 2005(which if I recall they were supposed to be showing up for dealers in feb of 2005 so this makes sense). Last production is April 2006.

Do we know yet if the VIN # says anything about the day it was made? Since mine was built in Jan 05, I wonder what number she was. I'm not sure I'm going to give my VIN on the net, but I don't know which numbers are for counting.

I am wondering as well, here in the near future I might PM you, and other early 05 owners(including myself) for the last several digits of your VIN number, this is the vehicles serial number, and should be sequential, plus if you worried about security I would be the only one to have those, and I'm not sure what I can really do with the serial number anyways(can't look it up anywhere but at the dealer to find your options).

Alright so I looked at my VIN. The last three numbers are 713. I'm going to guess that my Jeep was the 713th made in the US.

Eh, not really that simple, the last 7 digits of your vin makeup the serial number, at best all we can hope to do is correlate production date with serial number, that way we can tell which is earlier.

fair enough. Based on what I'm looking at with my VIN (a bunch of zeros) and knowing it was built in Jan 05, I was guessing. I don't know how many they would have built in Jan though.
