If you have any leaks with a lube locker gasket you have a majorly bent diff cover. And i took mine out yesterday for a power line trail or 2 and a wash.

Did my first oil change since I got the Liberty (5k miles @ 88k now). It was Nasty with soot and seemed thinner than what I put in (Rotella t6 5w40 and Mobil 1 M1-301 filter). I halfway think that the dealer (Carmax) I got it from didn't use the right oil.
I also took a good long look at the EHM i did just after I got the jeep 5k miles ago and it was nasty too. I used clear tubing so I could see if it became blocked and see how bad it was blowing by. Daily I see the fumes and smoke as I sit at traffic lights or in drive-through's so it definitely is blowing by. I don't know how much is too much or if there could be another cause. picture below of the tube

I ran my EHM down the passenger side and put the end of the hose into a nice large hole in the frame. Sits in the frame very securely, not blocked or anything. Minimal blowby.

Renewed the Florida registration on it for 2 years, all I can do to it as it sits in NC waiting for a new engine.

GDE Echo tune, EHM, and new thermostat.

EGR CEL gone, riding the torque, engine up to temp for first time in long time, and blowing a little oil.

Listened to the KJ running again for the first time since the lightning blast killed it, nine months ago - after trbleshooting the wiring and ignition system, replaced the glow controller (melted) and ECM (not even a smudge - just dead) - addressed the VIN, SKREEM, and installed the injector registry numbers - now for some tunes - original ECM had INMOTION Stage II tune, for some fun rides - guess that tune now resides in the ozone layer, eh.................

Sorry didnt see this. And no, a local offroad shop of mine has a machine shop make theirs and they could get it to me sooner at the same price. something like $212 for four 1.25 spacers and 20 chrome lugs(to bolt the wheels to the spacers, the spacers lugs came with it).

Snatched out he Fedex truck and a little toyota all within about 20 mins of each other. And in my own front yard both seemed to be extremely shocked by the little jeeps power.

Spent this week reading LostJeeps, when I should have been working....

Next week (if we get a break in the weather) holds an oil/air/fuel-filter change, DIY engined blanket and (if I can convince the wife) an EHM. Wish me luck,
Simon

Just ordered a new thermostat and gasket from Moparonlineparts.
$100.68 for stat. Once it gets here, I'll get some HOAT coolant
from Oreilly's and go to it!!!!

I replaced the blower motor resistor so now I can have heat on four different speeds rather than just on four. It only took about an hour with breaks from the cold and a couple bandaids to cover the cuts incurred while trying to get the sharp old one out. I felt like I was in the know when I bought a sebring part for my jeep.
