OK, thanks.

I had the idea you could choose the version number to which you wanted to upgrade...

So for the uninitiated - what does the TSB actually mean?

Do we get it done free or cheaper or something?

I'm getting a glow plug fault code - but its never really ever cold here and I have not starting issues - should I even bother with it?

Can I disable something so the CEL does not trigger

TSB is a Troubleshooting bulletin - it means if you take it to a dealership - they should be able to click on the computer and know what to fix.
It's not free or cheap - unless you're under warranty and even then it's a response to a problem i.e. you need a dead glow plug before they'll install the fix.

the problem with dead glow plugs - is where to the pieces fall? - if they blow out the exhaust you're okay - if they stick between valve and head - you're rebuilding an engine........

I had a CEL read at the Autozone and Advanced Auto - both showed no codes. I was baffled :? , so at the recommendation of a great authority (thanks Keith), I went to the dealership to get the DRB read. The folks at the dealership said that there were two types of scan readings (short and long  ). Did the short read and also came back with no code. They did say there were some indicators in the MAF. Got that replaced, but to no avail. :banghead:

So, I went with the long read. It came back with PO672 - #2 Glow Plug Circuit. This was puzzling to me since it is a code that supposedly shows up with OBDII readers. :?

Has anyone had this situation before where no codes show on OBD readers, but common ones show on DRB? Also, what should I look out for when doing the Glow Plug replacement?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Lots of threads on the glow plugs. I paid to have mine done $500+ but now its over. If you do it yourself it looks like a lot of work and be very careful not to chip the old GPs taking them out. Had two bad GPs but had the codes for them. I have two OBD readers and they do not always read the same codes in the CRD. No CEL, one shows a residual code P-1140 and the other does not see it. Some readers have issues with our Jeep.

Thanks Yakers. It looks like it is not uncommon to have varied code scan results. Perhaps a pattern will emerge. Again, thanks!
