Actually....you are correct. I was wrong when I was figuring out how to interpret the results. I called Blackstone Labs and spoke to the technician and he confirmed that it meant the oil was thicker than it should be. I asked if it could be from the soot in the oil. He said it could be but it he thinks it is possibly from oxidation. He said the oil was thicker than normal but he said it wasn't thick to the point where he would be worried about it. I'm anxious to get another sample sent in to see how it looks.

If that is indeed the case (wouldn't it throw a CEL if it is clogged?)....is that a time bomb possibly waiting to happen? I.E.-all of a sudden the soot clog becomes dislodged and a big chunk of soot goes flying into the intake. Also....do you think that if it is clogged (one way of blocking it ) that it would cause anything funky to happen if I unplugged the MAF to shut it down? For some reason I get this mental image of unplugging the MAF and the EGR tries to close but can't due to the clog and somehow freaks out causing an issue.

If the egr pipe to the intake is so clogged with soot to be blocked then you can bet that the blockage or narrowing probably extends up into the intake elbow and the intake body cover. Yes this blocking may reduce soot but it also reduces performance and fuel economy as well.
