If that is indeed the case (wouldn't it throw a CEL if it is clogged?)....is that a time bomb possibly waiting to happen? I.E.-all of a sudden the soot clog becomes dislodged and a big chunk of soot goes flying into the intake. Also....do you think that if it is clogged (one way of blocking it

) that it would cause anything funky to happen if I unplugged the MAF to shut it down? For some reason I get this mental image of unplugging the MAF and the EGR tries to close but can't due to the clog and somehow freaks out causing an issue.
