I would just remove the whole seat. 4 bolts and you are done.

Crazy question......... Has anyone removed the passenger seatback? I want to leave the base, just the seatback. I have a job out of town and need to throw a couple of ladders and equipment in there. This would greatly increase my room inside. I know, I know......."get a roof rack". I've got to leave tomorrow and don't feel like shopping for roof rack. I will do that next week.
