Do all 2006 CRD's use the 545RFE Tranny? My window sticker says 5 speed automatic while others I've see say 5 speed automatic 545RFE.

Yes, unless you are fortunate enough to have one from a foreign country where a manual transmissions are available.

Nope it's a 2006 that was made in late 2005. I guess they just did not put the 545RFE on the sticker. Thanks for the reply. This is the best forum for the CRD. I've spent all day just reading past posts.

What about the 05's do they also only use the 545RFE?

Yep. Same transmission. Just keep watch to software updates (TSB's). This transmission is having issues (defective filters & shuddering) in many applications. A coworker is going through the same issues with his '05 Dodge Ram. I think he is finally getting the filter TSB and a reflash done this week. If you haven't already found it, the new software TSB is 18-023-06 (was released last week), applies to all the '05 & '06 CRD's.

Thanks, I am brining it in for a OIL Change at 1500. I am going to ask if they will do the TSB at that time.
