Yep, pretty much the same. You can use nylon hose fitting without any problems, but stay away from PVC!
One suggestion for initially getting everything hooked up - get a 6 ft roll of cheap heater hose, use that for the initial mockup and getting all the placements, lengths, and routing right. Then use the heater hose pieces as a template for cutting the nylabraid hose for the permanent setup.
You can easily adapt the ports on the Provent down to 3/4" ID hose, which matches the connections and hose already on the CRD. You need a short section of 1" ID nylabraid, and two nylon pipe to barbed hose adapter fittings - 3/4" male pipe on one end, 3/4" ID barbed hose fitting on the other (you can get these in either straight or 90 degree elbow configurations at Home Depot, TSC, etc). The 3/4" male pipe end fits snugly inside the 1" ID nylabraid hose, which then fits over the connections on the Provent. You can cut the nylabraid so that it's just long enough to go over the Provent connection and the threaded portion of the adapter, leaving the adapter butted up against the Provent connection to save space, and then just place a hose clamp on each end.
If you can adapt the Provent filter connections to 3/4" hose, it makes the connections at the valve cover and stock CCV hose a heck of a lot easier.
The Provent install pics under the "Alphabet Soup" sticky are from my CRD. If you'd like, you can PM me your e-mail and I can send you all the pics I have of it. If you do a search, you can probaly find the link to oldnavy's jeep stuff web page where he has all the pics posted as well.
Right now in the middle of doing a second Provent install, on my '87 MB. this one's easy, theres actually ROOM under the hood!
