Was at the local dealer parts dept, and I got a look at the schematic of the EGR and cooler assembly. Now...

Would placing a block or restriction where the exhaust gas runs from the EGR valve, thru the cooler, and back to the EGR assembly be a problem? Sorry I don't have that schematic, but you can get your local parts dept to print one up for you.

The cooler body is bolted to the EGR routing assembly. the channel is "C" shaped. A restriction plate placed between the cooler and EGR body would cause NO exhaust gas to circulate and make it to the intake. No modification of the EGR valve or any other components would be required. Only would need to gasket the plate to prevent blowby.

Anyone looked at this as a possibility? OldNavy, chime in if you have looked at this. It might throw a code, but would be no modification to the EGR valve itself. It is only blocking the flow AFTER the EGR valve.

Interesting possibility if not practical. :wink:

Been done previously. It does throw at least two codes, but appears to operate normally.

Interesting possibility if not practical. I would suspect all that it would do is throw a code like it does in the VW's.
