I installed a Filterminder this morning. Figuring where to put it took a lot longer than the actual install. Here's what I did... Parts needed: Filterminder part #3905161S 1/8 in. npt street elbow 1/8 in. male npt to 1/4 in hose nipple 1/4 in. i.d. neoprene grommet Here's a picture of the assembled Filterminder Remove the airbox cover. Drill a 3/8 in. hole in the cover as shown. Install the grommet in the hole. Plug the assembled Filterminder into the airbox. Push it in as far as it will go. Here's what it looks like from inside the airbox. Put everything back together. Here are some pictures of the finished installation. I found the Filterminder on ebay. Everything else came from the local hardware store. |

Sorry about the picture size. I'm a novice at posting pictures. I'll try to edit them so they won't be so big. |

What was the item listed as on e-bay? Who was the seller? I can't find it. |

Size is fine, perhaps because you edited 'em before I got to see them. But I'm curious as to why they are all so blurry. At first it looked as though you were working too close to the camera, so it couldn't focus, then I started seeing ones further away . . . and they were still blurry. Did you take them all handheld in poor light, perhaps? Sorry, it's the photography teacher in me . . . . |

Sorry, it's the photography teacher in me . . . . I had the same problem shooting my airbox modification. Backed away and used the optical zoom, got much better results. I had to fiddle with it some to get the lighting right, eventually took them again outside with natural light for better results. |

Yes, I know the pictures aren't the best quality. Probably a combination of several things. 1. Camera too close to subject. Should have backed off and used zoom. 2. Did not use flash, because it created too much glare (probably as a result of #1 above). Resultant slow shutter speed caused blurring. 3. Forgot to turn camera resolution down. Pictures therefore started out as 3MB files which had to be shrunk down a lot for posting. 4. Did all this at about 7:30 AM this morning. Was in a bit of a hurry to get pictures taken before wife got up. Didn't want to explain why Jeep parts were laid out on the kitchen table. You can't really tell how good your pictures are just by looking at the display on the camera. By the time I uploaded them to the computer my Jeep was put back together and I wasn't going to take it all apart again just to get better pictures. |

I don't think the person I bought them from sells them all the time. I just happened to find and be high bidder on a "package deal" for four of them. I'm undecided whether I am going to re-sell the three I have left, or put them on my other cars. If I decide to sell them I'll give the L.O.S.T. people first crack at them. |

Looks similar to the one mentioned in an Old Navy post http://www.filterminder.com/gafi_threaded.asp |

Just wondering if you can remove the airbox lid with the filterminder installed in that location. |

Yes. I can lift it far enough to get to the filter without removing any of the hoses or wires. It's a little tight, but no worse than it was before. The filterminder doesn't interfere with anything. |

I have the same unit but the threaded end screws into a bracket where it can be remote mounted. Just needed to leave enough slack in the hose (same as the wires) to get the lid off. |
