I'm a desk jockey and it's fun getting dirty once in a while.

The Jiffy Lube did a perfect job at Stanwood, WA on my CRD. There also was a RAM Cummins Diesel that has 315,000 miles on it next bay to mine that only had Jiffy Lube. They had the right oil and filter on hand and did what I ask the to do. No leaks, no errors! I wouldn't say every location would do as well but I know I can trust the one in Stanwood, WA.

It cost $30 extra for synthetic and I don't have to worry about the trip because it is done right. This tread had me a little worry and I crawled under and check the drain plug and filter. Filter not leaking and tight and so it the drain plug with the metal gasket in place.

I think the larger the population center, the lower from the food chain Jiffy Lube hires from... but then again I'm a backwoods country boy stuck in suburbia and an IT career. I've had decent service at the Jiffy Lube in W. Olympia, but never in the Seattle metro area.

Why not do your own? My salesman told me it's not a problem but that I should keep good records (I do anyway---this is my business vehicle). I haven't changed my oil in years but with the price of synthetic and easy access under the CRD, I can't resist. I'm a desk jockey and it's fun getting dirty once in a while.

I agree, do it yourself. The libby is one of the sweetest vehicles to work on. Oil changes, diff lube changes, etc are very easy.. even for a novice. I can understand some not wanting to get greasy, but it is a great way to keep on top of your ride and catch things that a mechanic who is on a clock may not.

I recently went to Jiffy Lube with my CRD to get an oil change. They ended up pulling an oil breather line while working on it, and decided to charge me an additional $20 AFTER the oil change was done. I had filed a complaint about this at their customer care site and the manager called me back a couple days later to apologize. He said he was mailing me a coupon for a free oil change for my troubles. That was over two weeks ago. Something tells me that I'm never seeing that coupon... Then to top it off, I see that five out of nine Jiffy Lubes ripped off a channel 4 news team that was investigating them in the LA area... Yep, I'm never doing business with Jiffy Lube again...

Jiffy Lube.... Thats a company that I ceased using back in 1989. as I prior to a ski trip had a full service done, including tranny and transfercase on my 1988 Cherokee. They did not put the drain plug back into the transfercase, and the trasnfercase was destroyed. And well Jiffy Lube denied this.. That was the end for Jiffy Lube for me.

I use the local Muffler Man. They have a great reputation in town. I refuse to pay a dealership that much darn money. Just keep your recipts and use the recommended oil and Mopar oil filter and then DCX won't have a leg to stand on if something happens.

Local D/C dealer gets about one vehicle a month from local Wal-Mart or the Jiffy Lube that they screwed up. They had a CRD in from Wal-Mart where Wal-Mart had cross threaded the drain plug very bad and it was leaking. They ended up having to replace the oil pan on the CRD, seem the aluminium pans really cause those quick lub places problems.

I've had decent service at the Jiffy Lube in W. Olympia, but never in the Seattle metro area. My second home is on Camano Island well north of Seattle. Stanwood is the closest with what appears locals running it. They even knew where to direct me to get the tires rotated for free. I believe the name of the place was Les Shiber Tires or something close to that.

I agree, do it yourself. The libby is one of the sweetest vehicles to work on. Oil changes, diff lube changes, etc are very easy.. even for a novice. I can understand some not wanting to get greasy, but it is a great way to keep on top of your ride and catch things that a mechanic who is on a clock may not.

That was how I spotted the tranny pan seal leak last week. Dealership did the repairs and replaced all the filter for free.

That is how I found the tranny pan seal leak. The dealer fixed for free and that included replacing the filters free.
