I perform all of my own maintenance and always have (except that covered by warranty). A number of people have commented that they go to the dealer for scheduled maintenance due to concerns that DC will not honor their warranty if they don’t go to the dealer. I only know of one person who a dealer told that they were required to have scheduled service performed at the dealership; and that was a Volvo dealer in PA in the mid 1980’s. The questions are as follows: Has anyone been told by a DC dealer that they were required to use the dealer for scheduled maintenance? Has anyone had an issue with a warranty claim because they did not use the dealer for scheduled maintenance? |

Just remember to save all receipts and document everything - Think of it as "eventually may need to go to court" always CYA! I do my own mantainence stuff as well - can't trust the local DEALER yahoos to do it. Also, My 7yr 100K warranty is not with DC - I went with a different insurance company that will let me take it to any place I chose once the DC warranty, 3yr 36K, is over. I contacted them with the same question you have a they said the same thing: Documentaton! I cringe when I go to the DEALER |
