WELL!!!! After reading all the post about problems I decided I would post something positive. If you guys haven’t notice gasoline is about $2.56 a gallon here in Florida. Diesel has not gone up as much and is now at $2.57 a gallon, just one penny higher than regular gas, 9 cents cheaper than mid-grade. PLUS!!!!! I have been getting 23 to 24 mpg around town. That’s almost 10 mpg better than my old 3.7 Liberty got. Besides the EGR being replaced under warranty, I am happy to report that I'm now at 7,800 miles with no problems. My wife even said the stutter in the transmission reminds her of the days when she drove the big diesel ambulances. They had a really bad stutter between 45 and 50. She just adjusts her speed down and saves a bit more liquid gold. SO, lets all look to the positive as gas prices go higher and enjoy the fact that we are part of the few, good MPG 4x4 SUV's. Somebody know of a more capable 4x4 that at $3.00 a gallon, $60 a tank, will take you 475 miles? It's getting tough on people with gas 4x4 SUV's right now, lets be happy we have little oil-burners.

Just my 2 cents worth and thought for the day,

Wes

I agree, as I said I love my liberty........just want the issues resolved. When I read the paper today and saw the fuel prices it made me glad, bad diesel milage is still better than the 3.7 milage at 14mpg.

I'm getting close to 7,000 miles on my CRD and I only had one problem. My CRD started bucking and kicking on me one day out of the blue and I pulled over and let it sit and restarted it and it was fine after that. Took it into the dealer just to be safe and they scanned it. Otherwise, my CRD has been flawless for almost 7,000 miles now. And I'm averaging about 23 miles per gallon, which is 7 miles per gallon better than my wife's 3.7 V6. So I'm really happy.

I think the "problems" with the CRD are not as widespread as it seems. I know some people are having lots of issues, but I think 90% of CRDs are not.

I find it hard to look to the positive. Ive owned my CRD for 150 days, racked up 16,000 miles and it's back at the dealer! Total of 46 days so far.
I love the truck and it's capabilities.
I HATE DC AT THIS POINT FOR RELEASING A VEHICLE THAT WASN'T READY.
I was admonished by the service manager today for bringing in my truck(CEL on again) and getting a rental, seem DC doesn't want to pay for them anymore. Funny, when I bought my truck I was mailed a service contract for a rental a week at a time. Well, if the dealer has a problem scheduling time to fix my broken truck, or can't get the parts, NOT MY F@#$NG PROBLEM! I'm being inconvienced by DCs LAZYNESS in engineering.
I'm about a signature away from dumping this POS CRD and getting a truck that will tow as advertised and won't break on me.

Thanks for letting me vent.
Pat

11,335 miles on this one - daily driven. The ONLY problem I have had was the fan for the A/C (blower motor) fell off in July when it was like 8 gazillion degrees here in Mi. Dealer had in back to me next day.
Have not checked lately but with conservative driving (70mph highway) was getting 26-28

I'm with you guys, I guess I got one of the mid-week ones because at 6000 miles I've had none of the problems noted on all of the forums, pulls my 2200 lb boat in 90 deg. weather with no overheating in the Cascades, have never had a tank less the 17 mpg while towing. Nothing weird at all. Had to learn to gauge my pull outs from places to match the turbo lag, but that's it.

I have a little over 5000 miles now. Just finished refilling the tank. Got 25.4 MPG in mixed highway with some city driving. Matched my display which said 25.2. I have been concerned that the mileage has been from 18 to 22 up until now. Although I never seem to get much true highway miles unless it is with a trailer (1500Lbs).

I really like the CRD. I have had some heat problems pulling with the trailer. None serious, just the gage went very high but no shut downs. No fix yet.

Have also had my intercooler hose come off, my brake pads and rotors have been replaced because they have been hanging up. They still are usually too hot to touch when I check them.

With these problems I still really like the CRD.

Next week I am getting a Daystar spacer lift and then off to the Black Hills for a Jeep Jamboree in Sept.

Well, I did it. I'm no longer a KJ owner. After having to take mine in on a regular monthly basis. I'm finaly over it.
I traded it in on a 2500 Cummins 2WD 6SPD. I hope this one will be better.
I'll miss wheelin, but I can stil get a beater to tow to the mountains.
Thanks everyone,
Pat

Maybe you should have traded dealers rather than trade off the Libby!
I am lucky to have such a good dealer in PA. Good Luck with the new diesel.

34000 Miles and running like new, only thing I had was a blocking up rear axel due to dealer who charged but not changed the axel oil at 25000 Miles.
24 MPG until 30.000 Miles after that 26 MPG :D and the more Miles it is doing the more powerfull it gets :D
