Post subject:  Milage Report

Well, I am very happy after doing my first milage calculation. I haven't bothered before this point since I have such low miles on the clock, but the wife and I took a drive to PA today and when we returned I decided to do a calculation since I have exactly half a tank. We used approximately 1/4 tank on the trip which was about 70% back roads and 30% highway. Also on this tank was a lot of stop-and-go driving in Silver Spring, MD on the 13th..so I am even more impressed with these figures.

These number are approximate since I am measuring with exactly half tank indicated.

Fuel Used = 10.25 gal

Miles Driven = 266 miles

Tire Pressure = 38psi all around

Fuel Type = BP Power-Blend Premium Diesel + 8oz Stanadyne Diesel Additive

Approximate mpg = 25.95

City/Highway Driving = 60/40

Highway MPH = 65-70

Again this is approximate, and I will report again once I run it down and fuel up. This is when I will get a more exact number on the mpg.

Considering I only have 3100 miles on her, I think this is excellent.

Post subject:  Full tank MPG

Well, I ran er down to the idiot light came on. Stopped at BP and filled er up with fresh power-blend diesel and 8oz of Stanadyne.

Unfortunately, it was late at night and I didn't have anything to write my calculations on, but I used the calculator on my cell phone to figure out milage for the entire tank.

I came up with 25 mpg average for the tank. Not bad considering about 70/30 hwy/city. This included goosing it once in a while.

I went 466 miles.
