Is anyone using the Painless Preformance reprogramer on their CRD?
How do you like it?
Any better fuel economy?
Do you know how it affected your EGT?

I just purchased and installed the sIIe and it gave me all sorts of hell. I had to disconnect it within hours b/c it made my car stall when I came to a stop. Caused the idle to go very low at other times and in general run funny. I do not know if it made a know mechanical issue appear or if it is all the tuners fault. Reguardless I am returning it and going with the edge or the CR tuning module from Germany. Both of which adjust fuel pulse width and not fuel pressure.

I had similar problems when I first got mine, I bought it used. Turned out that I didnt have the ground wire hooked up correctly yhe first time, and I also had the wrong harness. The harness had too many wires that werent even being used.

I called SP and told them about it and they just sent me a brand new unit and everything has been working great ever since.

Where did you hear that the edge module adjusted pulse width? Last I heard from them they told me it increased rail pressure. It would be great to know it did more than that.

I emailed the people at edge and they replied "With the CRD Jeeps we raise the fuel pressure making it advanced the timing a little as well. That's basically how we get the horsepower gains out of it. If you have anymore questions let us know." So i guess i was wrong about the edge but I do know that the one offered through Rocky Road Outfitters does adjust the pulse width.
