<RANT> Leaking from the front seal! Had it in once at about 1800 miles - they said they couldn't verify the leak & put dye in it. Took it back (again) to get the F31 recall done - said they would schedule it (3900 miles) - FINALLY got it in the dealer today (5600 miles) to get it fixed ... had to FIGHT to get a rental ... ![]() </RANT> Supposed to be finished with it tomorrow ... so could be worse. Got stuck with a Dodge Caliber for a rental ... not a bad car, but DEFINITELY not a CRD .... I'm L.O.S.T. without the torque! Plus, the CVT transmission of the Caliber leaves a lot to be desired for me ... Anyway, just getting this of my chest. Hopefully it'll get done right & be OK! |

Not to change the subject but from your signature, I see that you installed an EVIC post manufacture. How hard is it to install/setup/wire? I think it was a $400 OEM option on new Libby's. ![]() |

Hardest part of the EVIC install (for me) was getting the bracket where I wanted it ... wiring wasn't all that bad - 3 of the 4 wires you need to connect you can tap into the diagnostic connector under the dash (data bus, ground, and if I remember right, the 12+ constant) - I found another bundle of wires close to this with a wire that had the 12+ switched that wasn't active when the key was in the ACC position. Really not bad at all. You will need an EVIC from a 2005+, or the temp won't work. PM me with any other questions! |

Post subject: | UPDATE |
Turns out it wasn't the front pump seal - the torque converter was cracking at the welded seam ... !!!! Dealer has had it since Monday ... and they only are paying for a rental for 2 days ... !!! Guess it's back to fighting again .... Hopefully, the new TC will hold up better. ![]() |
