1) Front passenger window "screetch" going down. This has mostly stopped happening but I'll still bring it up.
2) Both front window bind going up. This is getting worse with the drivers side almost stopping about 1/2 way up.
3) Rear brakes sometimes "groan" when cold. This again is intermitant.
4) Left Front brake/whell grinds when hot at low speed. Noise stops when brake is applied.
5) EVIG mpg is wildly inaccurate. As much as 20% high. Avg. 8% high. Error is greatest in mixed driving and least during constant hwy trips. Detailed documentation since new provided.
6) Fuel gage reads 2 gallons high.
7) Speedometer is 3 mph high at any speed (other then stopped).
8 ) Driveline vibration at speed. Most noticalbe at 65 - 85. Almost feels like a loose wheel bearing/steering problem. Steering is tight...just a steady ligh shake.
I had the rear left door lock die 28 days after I took delivery of the new vehicle. The noise it made when locking/unlocking was horrific.
3) and 4) are probably related. I understand there is a TSB to address the brake noise. Mine did the same thing From Feb 2006 until recently (early Oct 2006.)
5) My computer always reports a minimum 2mpg higher than reality, but is most inaccurate on the highway where it has reported 8, 9, or more mpg higher than real mpg.
6) How do you figure real gallons on the gague? It's just a dial. I figured 19 years of engineering would have improved the condition of fuel gauges and we'd see real gallons reported on a digital display, but the Liberty fuel gauge behaves exactly the same as my 19 yr old Buick. On the Liberty (and the Buick), the gauge appears to be reporting the volume in a funnel, so it isn't worth spit until the tank is nearly empty. The gauge hardly moves until the Jeep has been driven 1/3 of its range on the tank. Then the gauge starts moving and falling faster and faster. The trip OD on the Liberty (reset at each fillup) just crossed 200 miles today and the fuel gauge points to 3/4 full. So, then am I getting 800 miles from a tank? Nah. (Well, if you ask the EVIC, it says the mileage I've driven, plus the distance expected from the remaining fuel means I'm getting 680 miles from a full tank.) But, experience says the low fuel light will come on when the trip OD is near 385 to 395 miles.
7) Yeah, I noticed that at a radar sign the other day. It was a 30mph zone and I had the cruise at the lowest speed possible. The spedometer reported 32. The radar sign was flashing 29 and 30 at me. At least it means I might not be getting tickets
8 ) I notice this, too. There is always a subtle vibration that I'd call "metalic". It's not like road vibration in other cars. It becomes more pronounced when in Full Time 4x4. I had figured it was just something inherent in an off-roading vehicle.
