Bought a 2006 CRD back in August and just got around to joining this board. Honestly I was never crazy about the Liberty as my parents have an 03 gaser that I have driven on many occasions. Went and drove the CRD on a whim and was hooked, love the torque!

5,000 miles and all seems ok (hopefully it will stay that way). Getting about 27 MPG on the highway and 20 MPG in DC metro traffic, respectable and fantastic compared to my 1999 TJ with the 3 spd automatic.

A couple questions

1. What fuel addatives are you running to improve the lubricity and keep things starting easily with winter coming? Ran a bottle of Redline diesel catalyst (spread over 3 tanks) through it and it seemd to quiet things down but I didnt notice any other benefits.

2. Is anyone seriously considering the Edge Performance module? I was considering a "TomTom" nav system and thought even though the Edge with the A2 is pricey it might be the "better rig"

2. Anyone in the DC metro area? I used to see a black CRD running around Gaithersburg.

I've been using a Power Service/Marvel Mystery Oil mix since new. 3 qts P/S to 1 qt MMO, use about 6-8 ozs per fill up.

Thought about an Edge, but kinda leary about it since it isn't a year old yet.

We're up in the B/more area. Wife works down in Calverton.

Sigh and the morning after I posted this.......................................dead CRD! Calling the dealer today to check on it (and see if they are reupping my loaner)
