| Post subject: | Power Service Additive |
Have been runing white bottle power service. How much do most of you use? I fill up at 1/4 tank which put in about 15 to 16 gallons of fuel. The question is this is 4 oz. of additive enough for this type of fillup? I want to be consistant and fill my tank at 1/4 that way it always gets the same amount of additive. Any thoughts on this? |

32 oz. to 100 gal. so for insurance I put 4 oz. to 10-12 gal. Works out well. 4 oz. is just half way between the marks on a 1 qt. bottle. If fillind 15 gal., just adjust accordingly. I go about 300 miles between highway driving fillups and put in 10.4-11.1 gals. (now, I think it's starting to break in), wasn't this good until recently. |

I use 8oz at each fill. Usually I let my fuel level get down to below 1/4 tank. 8oz is an easy measure (One quarter of the bottle). |

Thanks for the info. Can you use too much additive? Is it better to use 8oz. or 4oz. at 1/4 tank? Do most use the grey bottle instead of the white bottle in the summer time? |

I have only found the white bottle here local that is the bigger bottle. (1 gal. I think. The white is better for winter as it has anti-gelling properties. |

No it won’t hurt anything to use extra. Putting in more than the recommended dose also won’t help either. The cetane enhancing chemicals can only help to a certain extent. Although, I'm sure the people at Power Service would appreciate it if you do. |

I use the silver (grey) in the summer and the white in winter. |

I am going to run the Power Service through the winter as soon as I drain my tank with the redline in it (that usually takes almost a month unless I take a highway trip). Power Service is cheaper and I am hearing good things about it. Generally I have heard good things about Redline's stuff but never a peep about their diesel additive and it is more expensive. |

Do you guys run power service EVERY tank? I use it whenever I fill up with a full tank, which is about every 2 weeks, in between I'm only putting in $20 - $40 here and there so I dont bother. I think that will change come winter to prevent gelling of the fuel and I'll use it every tank an only fill the tank. From my calcualations going by the calculations on the bottle I'm averging 70l fuel at fill up so I put in 175ml of PS, which just fits in a long neck glass bottle I have. |

I use 8oz of the white bottle at each fill up. I don't let my tank go below 1/2 cuts down on possible water and keeps weight on the rear wheels on the slick roads. Take care |
