I plan on doing some preventative maintenance and replace the front, rear dif and transfer case fluids.
1st question: Why the different weights for front and rear diffs? Can I use same fluid weight for both?
2nd question: Fluid capacities? Need to know so I buy enough.
3rd question: Fluid spec? GL4 or GL5 or something else??
Thanks,

PS Can I use same weight fluid in both diffs?
Think they have different oils because they were built by different manufacturers. I used the same weight in both diffs, synthetic 75W90. If you intend to tow, it's recommended to use the 75W140 synthetic. I think they are both GL5???, 4 qts is enough for both axles. Don't forget the friction additive if you have a trac-lock rear diff. In case you haven't noticed, the rear diff does not have a drain, you have to pull the cover and re-glue it.
For the t-case, 2 qts of ATF+4 will do it. Pouring oil sideways is a PITA, it will be easier to fill the t-case if you get a hose attachment for the lube bottle.
