So two days after Customer Satisfaction Recall - F37 less that 200 miles I get a P0601 Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error using the key toggle routine. Is this something that I should be concerned about?

I think it is EGR/EGR FCV failure code. But you can check the sticky for Codes to be sure.

If you read the code on the odometer, the last 2 digits are transposed (at least they are on my CRD), so the code would be P0610, "Control Module Vehicle Options Incorrect." A guess would be the dealer either changed the ECM/TCM and left something un-programmed in the module. Sounds like the module can sense some kind of equipment in the vehicle that's not coded correctly in the software. But that's just my guess.

It should be a stored code vs. an active code if read out with scan tool. It's a left-over from the dealer who didn't know what they were doing flashing the vehicle and/or forgot to reprogram the VIN and variant coding before the first key-on. Shouldn't be a problem now.

Ranger1, dead on. Took it to the dealer and the code is a P610. Technician claims the PCM thinks it is a standard shift (I WISH). New PCM on order no cost. I said can the order the standard shift and install it instead.
