This is a general poll to see what you have done with your ccv system.

Completely stock on both my vehicles. But be careful, some on here will call you names if you don't agree the ccv is the root of all evil.

Provent catch-can. Is anyone really using a return?

Just did the EHM a few weeks ago.

Had the EHM but since the new engine and ULSD have left it stock for now. A good oil that controls soot like Amsoil Series 3000 or Rotella T Synthetic, ULSD and Clean AIr Filters do the trick I think.

Lets just say that I will never have to worry about my passengers side frame (unibody?) rail rusting

Not really. Seems each of these beasts has it's own personality in regards to oil in the air intake system. Some people can run stock for thousands of miles and have little if any oil in the intake. Then you have mine that can turn a Provent filter filthy black and have oil collected in the drain tube inside of 3000 miles. And others that have had turbo seals fail and dump a quart every 1000 miles into the intake.

Mine is stock for now. Will be doin the first oil change this weekend goin to have 10000 km on it. Will inspect all my hoses and decide what to do. Has been to cold outside to do it yet. Will have access to a heated shop this weekend. Going with the heavy duty amsoil 5w30 this change and the amsoil filter.

did EHM at around 300 miles. rig was filled with regular dino fuel by dealer. the inner part of the hose out of the ccv and the area below the hose on the valve cover was covered in an oily residue (yes, after just 300 miles). filled the tank with B20 and did the EHM at the same time. currently have 1500 miles - and the EHM is still pretty clear - been running B20 ever since EHM was done. a bit shocking. not sure if its the fuel or what?

have a provent ready to install - but it's been too cold to climb back under the rig. will do it soon though. dont want to risk the EHM (with a catch bottle) freezing up so planning to do it asap.

will switch to the amsoil heavy duty oil at around 3500 miles.

love this rig!!!

Other.

Tested the EHM on mine for about 1,000 miles then had to take it off for Ball Joint and Torque Converter Recalls. My see-through plastic hose was completely clean except for first inch at exit of CCV Valve - looked like all oil was pooling and then draining back into the valve outlet.

My "Other" modification was to return the plumbing to stock but make an up-turn in the CCV hose by routing it over a small diameter coolant line that goes to the coolant overflow bottle. Look closely and you can see:

Mine is stock and staying that way...If it goes to hell there's warranty as long as its leased. I'm not shaggin around making stuff up on a brand new vechicle.

For sure, I take very good care of my Jeep, and I even have a diesel specialist do all my maintenance work instead of the less then competant dealer. I'm just going by the book, if there's a design flaw there I'll let them deal with it as long as I hold up my end of the bargin with proper maintenance.

I like to lease, if it turns out to be a lemon I turn it in without going upside down like trying to sell it privately. If I really want to I can always buy it out at the end.
