| Post subject: | Fried ECM.... |
My car has been at the dealer for 15 days excluding weekends and the transmission F37 issue has been resolved so the tech says. In doing the re-flash the tech said the ECM "locked up" or as the service writer said they "fried your computer" How common is this frying of the ECM? I pick the car up tomorrow and head to the mountains. I hope this fix takes care of the CRD for a LONG TIME! Tom |

From what I have seen on here it is becoming all to common. I am starting to wonder if its not so much the techs screwing things up as it is something going wrong on DC's end to interrupt the download. |

I don't know what to tell you about your fried ECM. In my case, I dropped the car off at about 8am and just after 1:15pm they called and said it was ready. They did the tranny fix and f37 reflash during the 5 hours. The ticket initially said to do the f31 as well, but the tech called dc and found out that the f37 covers the f31 so only 1 reflash was done. The techs at my dealer are old hands at diesels as they sell many dodge trucks. I have had no issues with any work done and never had to have a repeat visit due to poor work. I strongly suspect that it is tech incompetence that is causing your problems as it is possible to get things fixed on time and right, the first try. |

If my memory serves me correctly I have had another re-flash performed prior to this one? These guys are big Dodge Cummins movers too but who knows the tech may have been new ... I hope not! Maybe the new ECM will help Thanks Tom |
