Sounds like the boys down under are getting frustrated too . Judging by the thread you posted it appears that a stronger coil has been developed for an individual application. Cannot understand why it's taking OME so long to get this thing right. I've managed to get 735mm Front (rim to guard ) using a top spacer with ARB bullbar and 745/70R16 . Rear is at 740mm . Front has settled by 10mm after a few outings. The ride however is a lot firmer . I would change back to the coil anyday and do away with the spacer . Hope it's on the horizon.

AFAIK ARB have given up on producing a coil for the CRD.

I would say that this custom coil from Kings Springs in Queensland is going to become 'THE' spring for lifting the KJ from now on.

These springs are mentioned in about three threads, but if a price was mentioned, I missed it. I wonder if they would be too heavy for a CRD without the bumper and winch. It would be a shame to have to put on a bumper and winch because the springs wouldn't sag!

You could probably get by with the HD OME springs if you don't plan on getting a winch or bumper.

Plus there's no waiting!

I e-mailed King Springs and they will ship to the US, for a price. The springs are $250(AUD) and FedEx Air is another $225 (AUD). $475 Aussie comes out to ~$378 US.

I'm trying to get one of the internet shops to carry them. Can someone with some clout with these places (All-J, Rocky Road, Rusty's, Rock Lizard, etc.) lean on them a little bit to help get them over here?

Man, I would love a set of those!

I too contacted Kings, but you did your currency conversion calculation wrong (not you Oz, but the previous quote), it is about 607 US dollars. That is a little steep just for the springs. Maybe if they did order an entire pallet, the price might come down, but I'm sure it would have to be on a slow boat to get the shipping rate at a decent price.

I get 475 Australian is 370 US - about 1/2 of which was shipping and 1/2 the cost of the springs

xe.com Universal Currency Converter ® Results
Live mid-market rates as of 2007.01.07 18:48:05 UTC.
475.00 AUD
Australia Dollars = 370.166 USD
United States Dollars
1 AUD = 0.779296 USD 1 USD = 1.28321 AUD

and I emailed Kings and All-J's
If All-J's carries them the shipping cost would drop dramatically as they could ship in bulk instead of Fed-Ex Air
(they will ship by other carriers if you request but they have better results with Fed-Ex)

All-J's wasn't a definite no, it was more of a we're really busy now and don't have time to look at it (they were doing the move)

Here is the text from the reply I got from Heather at All-J:
Quote:
Yes, we are aware of the heavy CRD as you mentioned below. We, however, never suggest any CRD owner to swap out the STOCK CRD front springs because the spring rate for the stock CRD front spring is much better than any currently available aftermarket front spring.

King Springs has contacted us; however, since their specs are different than what OME would require, we have decided to wait on OME to come out with them.

Give us and OME 3-6 months and we should be able to have a better CRD spring for a lot less than the costs you quoted below.

I'm waiting until I'm ready to replace my stock tires before I do my lift, bumper, etc., so the 3-6 months is okay by me; that's probably not the case for everyone.

3-6 months is good for me too.. I really want to get rid of the spacer I'm currently using.. It would be great to have a new HD spring for the CRD
