Yeah, Yeah, I screwed up.
I tried removing my MAP sensor this past weekend, and evidently had the wrong sized allen head in the bolt that was just a tick too small and stripped it just enough so the 4mm doesn't fit in snug. anyone have any 'easy' suggestions' on removing the bolt?

The bolt that holds my map sensor in is a socket-head type bolt and it has little grooves on the sides of the head. I could see myself using a pair of pliers to grab hold of the head and turn it. You can go to Home Depot and buy an identical replacement bolt once you get it out.

vise grips or needle nose vice grips(no cheapies either, crappy pliers wont do the job)

then just goto ACE and get the exact same bolt for a replacement.

Sometimes you can get a torx head into a rounded hex/allen, looking for a nearly interference fit - possibly tapping it in.

I've done that once or twice and had some success.

Thanks for the recommendations guys, those were some of the same ideas I had. I tried vice grips, but they were the bigger ones and I didn't seem to have enough room to get a good bite, I'll invest in some smaller ones after trying the torx route.

Try using a pair of multi-grips or is that what you guys call a vice grip?

Hammering in a torx bit would get it out as well.

grabs the outside - the way an easyout grabs the inside

The firt time I took mine out it was WAY too tight  I was affraid that was going to happen to me also. How bad is the bolt? could you square off the end of your allen wrench and get a better fit :?:

MINE WAS TOO!. I honestly thought the allen wrench was going to break before that little sucker came loose!

thats funny .. I bought that same set a few weeks ago .. works awesome. but with the small head size and torx/allen inside, I thought the screw extractor would be a cheaper option.

x4 ... I tried a small allen wrench ... then had to get a longer one to get more leverage. I was almost thinking it was reverse thread ...

I thought the MAP allen socket was a 4.5 or 5mm?
