So, here I am reading the Indianapolis Star the other day when out of the page jumps an add to donate you vehicle.
The picture is of a brand new KJ. I hope this is not some sign that the Liberty CRD is only good for donation!

So if your fed up with your CRD KJ, some needy family will take it.

Heh, that's funny that they chose to use the picture of a KJ for their ad. When I first met my wife in 2000, she was driving a 95 Neon with the SOHC engine. This engine was known for blowing head gaskets. Hers blew 2 of them in 60k miles. Shortly after I met her, I got her a great deal on a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire (brand new). The only problem we ever had with that car in 115k miles was the brakes. Cheap rotors were always warping causing her brakes to pulsate.

When she got the new one, her parents donated the Neon to one of these charities for the tax write-off. I tell you what though, that 95 Neon was the biggest pile of crap I ever drove in my life.

It's just funny how popular those Neons were back when they first came out. Everyone either had one or wanted one.

Sorry for the rant, but those ads about donating your car always get me thinking.

My wife's 95 Neon is our "spare" car, never had any major repairs just oil changes, breaks, the normal maintenance stuff. Got 85,000 on it. heck it just recently started eating a quart of oil every tank of gas. freakin rear main seal. Guess theres always the possibility of either getting a really good one, or a lemon.

Is hers the Expresso model with the DOHC engine? The DOHC engine wasn't as bad as the base engine.

SOHC..... CHEAP, it was the cheapest car her aunt could buy when she bought it new and it was donated to her as a first car. I can't complain to much.

Just make sure you change the oil first. That needy family won't be able to shell out the $100 to get it done.
