Well, I've had this clunking noise when shifting direction for a few weeks, and could not figure out what it was, ball joints were fine, etc.

I finally discovered my gremlin the other day. I crawled underneath the front end while a friend rocked the CRD back and forth. I could clearly see and hear the passenger side engine mount slopilly clunking back and forth.

My question is, has anyone who has dealt with this gremlin before have any insight. Did you have to replace the mount, or simply tighten down the bolts? If you did it yourself, what did it involve?

Tighten the bolt. Several have reported this problem before, maybe a year ago.

I had that same problem this past summer. Busted pass side motor mount.
