When temps in my area are 30 degrees or below, and my crd has been sitting for awhile, it takes a long time for it to shift into the last gear. It finally shifts into the final gear when it reaches normal operating temperatures while cruising on the highway. Any ideas why?

Normal operation. It won't go into overdrive until trans. reaches a certain temp. Is Chysler the only trans that does this?
