For those of you who are depressed enough about the Jeep to commit seppuku (hari kiri) here is another little gem I found on another web site:
Warranty Direct, an independent automotive warranty specialist company, released the results of a survey they recently conducted regarding the reliability of major automotive brands for vehicles 3-to-9 years old. They are ranked by the percentage of mechanical failures reported covered by each brand warranty policy.
Jeep was absolute last in the list with 46.35% of vehicles needing at least one repair under the warranty policy. Ouch. In second-to-last place was Land Rover at 44.21%.
The Jeep Liberty with the exception of the problems we have had with the CRD is the highest quality vehicle Chrysler produces. The Grand Cherokee's have more issues over all than Liberty's. My 2002 was never in for warranty repairs and the 2005 Liberty CRD , well what I can I say. Other than EGR / transmission issues has been flawless . We would buy another Liberty (gas next time) without hestiation.
