Any recommendations for a remote start system...will be used mostly for timer for turbo cool down?

Somebody posted about an Apexi turbo timer, but I can't think of a post about a remote start that will also act as turbo timer on the CRD. The Mopar unit won't do it.

the w.i.f.e. kit is not really reliable, the k.i.d. one may work but only when you throw weekly compensation...
just my 2cents you know

viper makes a great remote start

the good- LOOOONNNNGGGG range. (I make co-workers angry when I start my jeep 100yds away through 2 brick walls)

the bad- stupid antenna that finds the harmonic frequency of the road and rattles against the windsheild (only sometimes)

the indifferent-
1. headlights turn off when you lock it with the remote instead of staying on for 30 sec. (at night)
2. doors unlock when you turn off the ignition or activate the remote start to keep it running (it lets you out when you want out)

http://www.drdetailshop.com/V160XV.htm this is just the details of mine i didn't buy it here, you also need a chryler bypass module

DO NOT BUY THE ONE FROM JEEP! Its a bare bones model and the aftermarket ones are better. I did buy it. Its an Audiovox with no options. And since its a diesel they set it for a 30 second delay to allow the glow plugs to warm up!

There are quite a few out there with the turbo timer as an option. I had a Viper put on the g/f's Celica, and I like it. The only thing I don't like about it is it flashes the lights while its running, and that now you can't start it without unlocking it with the Viper module.

I'll second RTStabler51. I bought the factory system thinking it might have some cool options since it was from the factory. Nope. None. It starts the Jeep and that's all...and it's expensive.

It may be bare bones but it has the best warranty, covered under manufacturers warranty for the full duration, and if damaged caused by the remote start dcx can not void your warranty, if aftermarket they can and will void warranty! Plus you have the option of no-delay or a 15 second delay your choice!

True, but it still sucks, and its 30 second delay....unless they've changed it in 14 months.

The less junk on it, the less likely it is to screw-up, they may have changed it because mine is 15 seconds!

My glow coil doesn't run longer than 2 seconds even with 0 degree temps this week.

Have you had the reflash that came out last summer? It was a BCM reflash, but also gave enhanced glow plug operation.
